Committees

Activities Committee
The Activities Committee was created to ensure a positive and continuous Islamic environment in our community. The objective of the committee is to organize regular events and programs to bring together brothers and sisters for the purpose of education, recreation and unity. Some of the activities that are planned include, sports, lectures, camps, variety shows, etc.

If you would like to know more about the activities being organized or the committee itself or if you would like to help and join the committee please continue to visit this site or email:

Social Services Committee
The Social Services Committee is an essential component of the community and strives to meet the needs of those less fortunate. The committee is showing a lot of promise and intends to take care of a
lot of the needs of the Muslims that we often overlook. Some of the services that exist and are in the works include, food baskets, volunteering at shelters and retirement homes, running errands for the elderly and disabled, tutoring and counselling, etc.

If you would like to know more about the social services being organized or the committee itself or if you would like to help and join the committee please continue to visit this site or email:

Library Committee
The Library Committee was setup to establish a center of Islamic learning in the South Shore Community. The main goal of the committee is to create a properly structured Islamic library where anyone will be able to seek knowledge and information about our religion. Books, tapes, videos as well as other forms of media
will be available for people to borrow and there is even thoughts of further expanding our scope.

If you would like to know more about the library or the committee itself or if you would like to help and
join the committee please continue to visit this site or email: sslibrary@montrealmuslims.ca.

Communications Committee
The Communications Committee aims to facilitate a stronger link for Muslims to the entire community. The goal of the community is to transmit information to community members concerning important events, community news and Islamic reminders. The two main
methods to achieve these goals are this website and also a monthly newsletter.

If you would like to know more about the website or
newsletter or the committee itself or if you would like to help and join the committee please continue to visit this site or email:

Dawah Committee
The Dawah Committee is one of the most important groups as it has the mandate of spreading the Word of Islam to both non-Muslims as well as Muslims. The committee will try to present Islam in its true form, without the distortions of propaganda nor erroneous
claims. Some of the plans include, giving Islamic pamphlets and advice door-to-door, open houses at the masjid, dawah booths in public spaces, etc.

If you would like to know more about the dawah
programs being organized or the committee itself or if you would like to help and join the committee please continue to visit this site or email:
